High-mountainous centre for climate-healing Belmeken

The Therapy and Recovery complex will be used for specialized treatment, rehabilitation, primary and secondary prophylaxis, as well as, for relaxation, rest and sport.

A. Applying natural and physical factors in the complex, a number of socially significant diseases will be treated:

• Diseases of stay-motional apparatus of inflammable and degenerative character – rheumatoid polearthritis (eighteen months after the strong attack), ankiloziting spondiloarthritis (the disease of Behterev); diseases of the around-joint tissues and muscles; osteoartroses (professional and non-professional); arthrites and arthroses as a result of not tuberocolosis character (allergic, lungs, skin and blood).
• Diseases of periphery nervous system – radiculetes, neurites, plexsites, polyneurites, neuro-fybromnozithes, cellulites; situations after injuries and traumas of the periphery nervous system and others.
• Diseases of stomach-enteric tract – sore of the stomach in chronic stage, colites and gastrite, liver and gall disease.

B. Physical and psychological relaxation will be carried out in the complex by means of:

• rest and sport;
• blitz-programmes for reducing the weight;
• anti-strain programmes for relaxation and functional recovery;
• body-building;
• face-building;
• anti-cellulites programmes and etc.

Up-to-date methods and procedures will be applied in each case as: therapy and feetball gymnastics, prophylactic gymnastics, raising gymnastics, electro-gymnastics, body-building, manual-therapy, physio-therapy, laser-therapy, makenzi-therapy, lymph-drainage, manual manage, prophylactic massage, shiatzu-massage, under-water massage (tangentor), aku-pressure, auriku-puncture, laser-puncture, electro-puncture, cupping-glasses, thermo-therapy, cellutrone and others.

Visitors and guests of the complex will be offered a whole range of services, as:

• mountain tourism, including: history and cognitive tourism, water sports, eco-tourism, caving, hunting and fishing;
• entertainment tourism, including: visiting of entertainment places, celebrating holidays and anniversaries, week-end tourism;
• organized tourism, including: organized programmes – health programmes, training-programmes for sportsmen, arranging seminars, conferences and others.

Highly qualified specialists will take care of the diseased and they will apply contemporary methods of treatment and will use up-to-date apparatus.

In the place for labor-therapy, i.e. the house for art and crafts the guests will be acquainted with the folk crafts in Bulgaria and will take part by themselves in the working out of Rhodope clothes, knitting works, making national costumes, embroideries, artistic treatment of ceramics and wood. The fishing farm and greenhouses may be used with the same purpose. This has proved to be especially attractive to the tourists in the last few years.

The construction of this type of health institution in Velingrad will make it possible to carry out treatment and rehabilitation at an extremely high level and to offer these services not only to Bulgarians but to foreigners as well.

The nature around and the climatic conditions, the historic sites of the region are suitable to combine the treatment with the rest and relaxation. For the latter different activities are envisaged: history and cognitive tourism, ecotourism, hunting, fishing, skiing, water sports, cycling and etc.
