FUTURE PROJECTS of the “Sirona” International Association for Balneology and Tourism

“Belmeken” Specialized complex for climate-treatment - Bulgaria

Activity: High-mountain specialized complex for climate-treatment of pulmonary, cardiovascular, skin and occupational diseases.

Location: The complex is located in Belmeken, Bulgaria, 2000 m. above the sea level, 47 km. away from Velingrad, at the border of three mountains – Rila, Pirin and Rhodope. This is the only place in Bulgaria, located at such sea level, with constructed infrastructure, where a specialized complex for climate-treatment can be build at practice, such as those in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and France.

This place has been explored very carefully and is used like a basis for climate-treatment for many long years. It is well-known in the health card of Europe with its unique climate and the favourable combination of sun, air, flora, and water during all seasons.

Stage of completeness: Prepared and approved project, and assured terrain.

Time of completing the construction: year of 2014.

Activity: Specialized medical centers for rehabilitation and recovery

Locations in Bulgaria: Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Russe, Stara Zagora, and Veliko Tarnovo.  

Locations abroad: Moscow, Berlin, Geneva, and Vienna.
